The leaders of the ruling Seven Party Alliance in Nepal signed an agreement to resolve the political crisis Sunday night at Katmandu, online edition of India’s leading English daily Hindustan Times reported.

“The Maoists are finally rejoining the government,” Arjun Narshing KC, spokesperson of Koirala’s Nepali Congress told Hindustan Times tonight.

Maoists had resigned from the government on September 18 this year in protest against non-implementation of their demands of declaring Nepal a republic and introduction of a proportional electoral system for the Constituent Assembly election.

According to the agreement, Nepal would be declared a republic, and the decision would be approved by the first meeting of the Constituent Assembly.

Today’s agreement would soon be made public.
