Dubai : England captain Michael Vaughan was Monday fined 40 per cent of his match fee, while the entire team was slapped 20 per cent for maintaining slow over-rate during the third Test against Sri Lanka in Galle which concluded Saturday.
International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee Jeff Crowe imposed the fines after England was ruled to be four overs short of their target when time allowances were taken into consideration.
As per the ICC Code of Conduct regulations, players are fined five per cent of their match fees for every over bowled short, with the captain fined double that amount.
