Project Report for AMU Kishanganj is ready, needs MHRD approval for funds

    Ailigarh: The much awaited Detailed Project Report (DPR) for AMU Kishanganj campus has been submitted to the Aligarh Muslim University administration this past week. An authentic source from AMU has confirmed this news to Human Chain, a Delhi based Non Government society. Prof Javaid Akhter, Officer of Special Duty (OSD) for AMU centres in a written communication with Human Chain said that the DPR preparing agency EdCIL had submitted the final report a week ago.

    Er. Mohammad Aslam, President Human Chain and an AMU alumni said that the AMU administration will sent the DPR to Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD) in next a couple of days.

    “On behalf of Human Chain, people of Seemanchal and activists working for AMU Kishanganj cause, I am thanking the AMU VC and his team for pushing ahead the official work related to the proposed centre,” said Aslam. An AMU alumni and Vice President of Human Chain, Mohd Mudassir Alam expressed his happiness over the development. “The file will be in MHRD office in two to three days. We will consult the MHRD officials and ministers (if required) for getting the clearance on DPR and release of fund,” mentioned Mudassir.

    Human Chain members were in jubilant mood after receiving the fresh update related to AMU Kishanganj campus. In fact, they considered the DPR preparation as Eid-ul-fitr gift and vowed to continue the struggle till the AMU Kishanganj gets physical existence at Chakla in the outskirts of district headquarters. The society members Mujahid Akhtar Naaz, Tauqueer Alam (MSW), Salam Anwar, Nasim Haider, Asif Rameez Daudi, Shah Firoz, Minnat Rahmani, Tarique Sufyan, Tauquir Alam (JNU), Wasim Akhtar, Mumtaz Naiyer, Jahangir Alam, Ghaznafar Elahi, Sarwar Alam, Gholam Tarique, Mokarram Zia, Dilshad, Shah Azam, Manazir Ahsan along with many others have thanked the AMU administration and wished to see AMU Kishanganj as a reality soon.

    It should be noted that Human Chain earlier known as a coordination group is working as a pressure and lobbying group for AMU Kishanganj Centre. The govt of Bihar has already given 224.02 acres land to AMU for establishment of the campus in outskirts of Kishanganj in December 2011. However, the project is delaying due to fulfillment of official formalities and release of fund from the Centre.
