Chennai : Sixteen channels will telecast the $ 436,000 Chennai Open, starting here Dec 31, to 140 countries.
Zee Sports, Viasat Sport A/S (Scandinavia), Arab Media Corporation (Pan Middle East), Pragosport A.S. (Romania, Hungary and Czech Republic), Supersport Int’l Pty. Ltd. (Pan Africa), Canalsatelite Digital, S.L. (Spain), Indovision (Indonesia), Paris Premiere (France), Abu Dhabi Media Co (Pan Middle East), Lumiere Television Public (Cyprus), UAE Radio & Television (Dubai), NTV Plus (Russia), Sky Italia S.R.L (Italy), and Iko Kabelteve Kft (Bosnia) will telecast the 2008 edition of the tournament.
Some big names that will feature in the tournament include world number two Rafael Nadal and former French Open champion Carlos Moya of Spain, world number 16 Marcos Baghdatis (Cyprus), Mikhail Youzhny (Russia) and defending champion Xavier Malisse of Belgium among others.
