Baghdad : The offices of the so-called Awakening Councils in Baqouba, capital of Diyala province, were blew up by the Iraqi resistance on Wednesday, amid a large scale offensive staged by occupation and local forces.
Insurgents planted explosives at the headquarters of the so-called Brigades of the 1920 Revolution, considered allies of the joint forces, said military sources quoted by Voices of Iraq news agency.
Three members of the organization died and the same number were injured in the attack.
Diyala is a stronghold of the resistance and one of the country’s most violent provinces, where occupation forces, police, and the Awakening Councils are constant targets of the insurgent actions.
