New Delhi : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani Thursday termed the assassination of Benazir Bhutto as “a terrorist attack” and said it also showed the Talibanisation of Pakistan.
Speaking shortly after Bhutto’s death in Rawalpindi, Advani said: “It is a ghastly act. Benazir Bhutto was … a tall leader who had been struggling for democracy in Pakistan. She has fallen victim to a terrorist attack.”
He added: “The Talibanisation of Pakistan that is taking place is a threat to India also.”
Advani said that he had spoken to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over the telephone. He added that the prime minister told him that he would meet him (Advani) immediately after his return from Goa to New Delhi.
