Gaza : Three Palestinian militants were killed and six others wounded in Israeli artillery shelling on a village east of the southern Gaza town of Khan Younis on Thursday, security sources and paramedics said.
Two of the dead are members of the Islamic Jihad (Holy War) and the third is a member of al-Qassam Brigades, armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Palestinian security sources said.
Meanwhile, medics confirmed that three Palestinians were killed and six others seriously wounded in the Israeli artillery shelling in eastern Khan Younis.
Earlier, it is reported that three Hamas militants were killed and three others wounded in clashes with Israeli troops.
Witnesses said two Israeli bulldozers backed by several army tanks rolled into an area east of the village of Abasan near the borders with Israel.
Palestinian militant groups clashed with the Israeli soldiers, they said, adding that the conflict is still going on.
Hamas militants said in separate leaflets that they fired more than 20 mortar shells at the Israeli force.
In addition, several militant groups also claimed responsibility on Thursday for launching homemade rockets and mortar shells at Israeli army bases near Gaza-Israel borders and southern Israeli towns.
