Islamabad : Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting here to review the security situation in the country.
The meeting was convened Thursday in the wake of recent terror attacks in the country’s Bannu, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Mastung and Karachi areas, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.
Pakistan Army Chief Gen. Raheel Sharif briefed the prime minister about the country’s existing security situation.
Existing terror-related legislations were also reviewed in the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatmi, Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt. Gen. Zahir-ul-Islam, Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Ashfaq Nadeem, Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Maj. Gen. Amir Riaz and Director General of Military Intelligence (DGMI) Maj. Gen. Sarfaraz Sattar.
