London: A study has found women would prefer doing their hair rather than starting their day with breakfast.
The poll of 2,000 people, carried out online by One Poll Survey, found the most important meal of the day is sidelined by almost one in three women since they find themselves too busy to have it as they are getting ready for the day, Daily Mail reported Saturday.
But facing the world is not the only concern, as one in six women doesn’t eat anything in a bid to lose weight.
The top priorities for women first thing in the morning were doing their hair, followed by a shower and then choosing clothes for the day.
However, for men, having breakfast was much higher on their agenda which came second in their list of morning priorities.
The study found one fourth of the women skipping breakfast once or more in a week while 12 per cent admitted never having it.
The online study found that the main reason for missing breakfast was not feeling hungry in the morning, with 57 per cent saying they did not want to eat first thing. Being too busy getting ready for the day with hair and make-up was cited by 29 per cent of those surveyed.
One in four women said catching up on sleep meant they had no time for breakfast. However, 14 per cent also said they do not eat in the morning because they are trying to lose or watch their weight.
