While rejecting two PILs, a bench of Justice H.L.Dattu and Justice S.A. Bobde described the plea as “premature” and saying that it could not take a different stand or position that it had taken on earlier occasion when similar pleas were brought before it.

“Parliament is seized of the bill. This is not a time for court to look into it. We understand your point that it is introduced,” the court said echoing its earlier position.

On Feb 7 while declining to entertain similar pleas, the court had said: “We find no change in the position between Nov 18, 2013 and today. The portions are dismissed. Whatever arguments raised, the petitioners are free to raise at future time.”

The petitioners Monday had told the court that the difference between Feb 7 and now is that Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Bill, 2013 has been introduced in parliament which was not the position earlier.

The court however reiterated its earlier position saying that the averments made by the petitioners are open to be raised at an appropriate time.
