Islamabad : At least five people were killed Sunday in a blast in Pakistan’s Kohat district, a media report said.
Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani said the blast took place near a vehicle at Peshawar Chowk, reported Dawn online.
Durrani said the blast appeared to have been carried out using a planted device and was not the act of a suicide bomber.
The blast also left several people injured.
Durrani said five kg of explosives, planted in a wooden crate placed by the roadside, were used in the blast.
The explosives were detonated when a passenger vehicle reached Peshawar Chowk injuring the occupants of the vehicle and the driver of a rickshaw parked nearby.
