New Delhi : Four suspected militants from the outlawed Babbar Khalsa International planning to carry out a terror strike in the capital have been arrested, police officials said Friday.
According to the police, sleuths of the special cell apprehended Baljeet Singh of Mohali, Bikar Singh of Sangrur, Kulwinderjeet Singh of Ludhiana and Trilochan Singh of Panchkula Thursday and recovered 124 live cartridges and four pistols.
“The accused in their interrogation revealed that they belonged to Babbar Khalsa International (the oldest and most organised Khalistan terrorist group) and were planning a terror strike in the capital,” a senior police official told IANS.
This is the first arrest of suspected militants in Delhi this year. Last year, 19 alleged terrorists were nabbed and four were “neutralised”, police said.
