New Delhi : Congress president Sonia Gandhi was Sunday discharged from a city hospital after six days of treatment for a chest infection. The ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson has been advised rest by the doctors.
Gandhi, 61, was admitted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Jan 1 with chest infection and breathing problems.
“She has recovered from her illness and has been discharged,” said P.K. Rao chairman of the board of the hospital.
“She has been advised continuous rest,” said Rao.
Gandhi was being treated by a three-member team of doctors. The hospital said she had “chest infection”.
