New Delhi : Delhi Metro will start its services 4.30 a.m. onwards Friday, an official said Thursday.
“The Metro services will start from 4.30 a.m. to facilitate movement on Independence Day,” a Metro official told IANS.
On normal days, the Metro services start at 6 a.m.
The government had requested Delhi Metro officials to start services at 4 a.m. for the convenience of commuters.
“On the government’s instructions, complimentary passes will be available for the passengers going to Kashmere Gate and Chandni Chowk to attend the Independence day function,” the official said.
“The passes will be available at the Metro Stations from 4:30 a.m. onward,” he added.
He said parking of vehicles will be prohibited at Metro stations till 2 p.m. Friday.
“All other services, including the Airport Express line, will function as per their normal timings,” the official added.
