Muscat : An Indian national was found dead in his room in Oman, media reported.
The victim, 26, who has been identified by his friends as Siby, an automobile spare parts shop salesman from Kerala, was found dead in his room in Bahla town of Ad Dakhiliyah governorate Monday, The Times Of Oman reported Tuesday.
“He left the shop around 1 p.m. and went to his room for lunch. He was supposed to return by 3 p.m., but when he didn’t turn up and did not answer his phone, his sponsor went to the accommodation around 4 p.m. to look for him,” one of his friends was quoted as saying.
“When they opened the door of his room, Siby was found hanging. Police were called immediately and the Indian embassy was informed,” the friend said.
Police moved the body to the hospital.
The body is at the Bahla hospital and the sponsor is coordinating with the Indian embassy to clear the papers required to repatriate the body, friends of the deceased said.
