Aligarh: National Commission for Minority Education Institutions (NCMEI) will soon issue notices to different state boards to make the Adeeb and Adeeb Mahir degrees of the Jamia Urdu Aligarh equivalent with the high school and intermediate examinations of Boards.
Led by Director Jasim Mohammad a delegation of the Jamia Urdu Aligarh held a meeting with Chairman of National Commission for Minority Education Institutions (NCMEI), Justice M. S. A. Siddiqui and submitted a petition where in it was pointed out that Jamia Urdu Aligarh is serving the nation by providing education to the marginalised sections of Indian masses since 1939 through Urdu medium. The Jamia Urdu Aligarh is a recognised institution by NCMEI and so its degrees should be recognised equal to the high school and intermediate examinations of different boards.
Submitting petition to Hon’ble chairman of NCMEI
Justice Siddiqui heard the pleas attentively and assured the delegation that the Commission will soon issue notices to Boards of states and will certainly try to equalise the degrees of Jamia Urdu Aligarh with high school and intermediate examination.
Appreciating the achievements of the Jamia Urdu Aligarh, Justice Siddiqui said that it has served the deprived classes in country and also nation and the way in which it is educating masses is certainly a big achievement.
Discission with Hon’ble chairman of NCMEI
Elaborating on the issue Director of Jamia Urdu Aligarh, Jasim Mohammad said that though Indian government has approved provision of providing Central government services through a 1978 order but practically the approval has not been implemented. He said that now the NCMEI has assured us that our degrees will be equalised with high school and intermediate examinations and we hope that our students will benefit from it.
Apart of other delegation members, the Delhi Coordinator Majid Khan was also present on the occasion.
