The presidential debate will be held Sep 10.

The JNUSU election coincides with the Delhi University Students Union polls.

Last year, the All India Students’ Association (AISA) swept the election, bagging all the top four posts, winning three with huge margins and one with a lesser margin.

The Students Federation of India (SFI) – affiliated to the Communist Party of India-Marxist which once had a tenacious grip over the campus politics – has been faring poorly for the past few years.

According to sources, the SFI and its breakaway faction Democratic Students Federation (DSF), are planning to form an alliance this time to fight the AISA.
