The Congress held rallies at all the district headquarters to protest what it says are “anti-people policies” of the government.

“In the last 20 months this government has been in power, the common man (in Kerala) is facing the worst crisis because of rising prices,” state Congress president Ramesh Chennithala told supporters in front of secretariat here.

“This protest is just the beginning. We will not rest until Achuthanandan is removed,” Chennithala said.

Former chief minister K. Karunakaran also made his first public appearance in the Congress rally in nearly 21 months, after he left the party to form his own outfit in 2005. He returned to the Congress last month.
