Ottawa : A Canadian soldier was shot and wounded by an unidentified gunman at the National War Memorial in Ottawa and more shots were heard near the parliament buildings, media reported Wednesday.
Witnesses saw a man fleeing the scene in a car toward the parliament buildings, according to Xinhua. Local police and tactical teams soon converged on the area.
The shooter was still at large and Canadian police warned people in Ottawa to stay away from windows and roofs after the shooting.
