Dubai : World’s leading financial services firm Visa Inc. would set up its new technology centre in Bengaluru, cashing in on the talent pool in India’s tech hub, a senior company official said Tuesday.
“As the new technology centre becomes operational from early 2015, we hope to hire a diversity of talent from premier Indian universities,” Visa vice-president for developer platform in India Nitin Chandel said in a statement here.
Noting that India was becoming a global technology epicentre owing to its wealth of talent pool, Chandel said the company’s centre of excellence would build a culture of innovation from the ground-up to reflect its strategy to absorb new technologies.
“The new centre will focus on developing APIs (application programming interfaces) and SDKs (software development kits) to help our global partners access VisaNet easily for new commerce and payment experiences,” Chandel said on the occasion.
The new centre is aimed at strengthening the company’s global technology resources.
The US-based Visa recently opened an innovation centre ‘One Market’ at San Francisco in California.
“We have introduced in select markets a quick and easy payment service – Visa Checkout’ to allow our customers to pay for goods online in a few clicks,” Chandel added.
