Qatar remembers Maulana Azad, ‘Each Child Teach Child’ project launched

Doha: Students, teachers and Indian community members remembered Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, first education minister of India, on his 126th birth anniversary with the launch of ‘Each Child Teach Child’ project.

“Maulana Azad realized the power of education in ensuring all round development of the country and laid down the foundation of a sound education system. There is no better way to pay tribute to Maulana Azad than to work for imparting education,” Sabih Bukhari, chief guest, said and assured all assistance to Kainat Foundation for the ‘Each Child Teach Child’ project.

Foundation founder chairman Shakil Ahmed Kakvi said, “The project will provide opportunity to school going children to adopt a non-school going child for education. Successful experiment for ensuring education for all is done at Kainat International School in a remote area Kainat Nagar of village Kako in district Jehanabad of Bihar.”

Cultural programs, presentation on life of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad and speeches on the need of education and importance of mother tongue marked the programme attended by representatives of various social and cultural organisations, educationists, parents and large number of students, a release said.

Sonu C, member Kainat Foundation, screened his short film ‘Transformation through education at grass root level’ and documentary on “Each Child Teach Child’ was screened by Akash Pechetti.

Guest of Honour Mohammed Habibunabi said, “We should work together to bring Azad’s dream of universalization of elementary and secondary education.”

He also congratulated the young members of Kainat Foundation for their enthusiasm in organising the event. The program ended with an appeal to all to join the project, the release said.
