Ranchi : Campaigning for the first phase of the assembly elections in Jharkhand has gained momentum, with leaders of different political parties hitting the campaign trail to woo the electorate.
The first phase – scheduled Nov 25 – will cover 13 assembly seats. All the seats of the phase fall in the Maoist-dominated areas.
BJP president Amit Shah and union Home Minister Rajnath Singh addressed five rallies separately Sunday. RJD president Lalu Yadav will address six rallies Monday and Tuesday.
Kicking off the election rally in Lohardagga, Shah appealed to the people to vote for a stable government in the state.
Besides Shah and Rajnath Singh, many BJP leaders like Manoj Tiwary, Ram Kripal Yadav and union Agricutlutue Minister Radha Mohan Singh have addressed rallies.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has also intensified its campaign. Jharkhand Chief Minister and JMM leader Hemant Soren has taken charge of the poll campaign. He is addressing two to three rallies everyday.
Jharkhand will witness five-phased assembly polls Nov 25, Dec 2, 9, 14 and 20.
