The program was held at the Nehru bhavan which was attended by many people and addressed by political, religious and social leaders from the minority community. It was presided over by Maulana Mahfuzur Rahman Farooqi.
Addressing the hall packed gathering Imtiyaz Jalil, MIM’s MLA from Aurangabad (East) said, “There are four unfortunate events in the Indian history that have become blots on the democracy of the nation. The events are – Murder of Mahatma Gandhi by Nathhuram Godse, Sikh Massacre after Indira Gandhi’s murder, demolition of Babri mosque and Gujarat pogrom”.
“It (Babri demolition) was not a sudden incident”, he said, adding that there was a planned conspiracy behind the Babri demolition on 6 December 1992 and the structure was taken down in the very eyes of media cameras when the communal activists had paid no heed to the constitution and law of the land.
Exploring the reasons behind continuation of violence in India, he said, “If the perpetrators of Sikh massacre would have been punished then Gujarat 2002 riots could have been prevented as that would have acted as deterrent for the communal forces”.
Detailing the history behind Babri mosque with some references from the books written on Babri mosque by many non-Muslim authors who claimed that the Ram Janm Bhoomi was at another place than Babri mosque, activist Ziauddin Siddiqui said, “There is no proof of Ram janm bhoomi at the very place of Babri Mosuqe and many authors have clearly indicated that it was not at the same position where Babri mosque is situated. It has been made dispute by the communal forces without substantive evidence”.
One of the significant aspects of the gathering was declaration of MIM in putting efforts of reconstructing the Babri Mosque once Supreme Court decides in the favor of Muslims.
Speaking on behalf of the party, Mr. Qureshi, MIM district chief said, “Under the light of the historical proofs and the documentary evidences MIM expects of a favorable order from Supreme Court and no sooner we get such judgment our party will put every possible effort in rebuilding Babri mosque at its very place”.
The programme ended with a congregational supplication for rebuilding of Babri mosque and for prevailing peace in India and the world.
