A Democratic Youth Front of India (DYFI) activist Krishna Kumar was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries after he was hacked by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh activists in retaliation to his complaint against the organisation’s using of the premises of Thrikkadavoor Mahadeva Temple in Kollam district to impart arms training and to store arms and explosives.

Krishna Kumar is under treatment in a private hospital here at Anjalamood with injuries.

Following his complaints against RSS, Devaswom Ombudsman Justice R Bhaskaran had filed a report before the Kerala high court stating that he has received complaints against Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh for the misuse of the temple premises.

The court, on December 10, had initiated suo motu proceedings on the basis of the report and issued notices to the Travancore Devaswom Board and the Temple Advisory Committee.

A division bench comprising Justice P.N. Ravindran and Justice P.B. Suresh Kumar issued the notices.

The complaint also stated that the Temple Advisory Committee is collecting huge amounts from the devotees without proper accounting and the election to the committee has not been conducted for the past five years.

The vice-president of the committee is involved in the murder of Kadavur Jayan. Kadvaur Jayan, a former RSS leader, was hacked to the death by RSS activists in 2012.While he was killed Jayan was the leading functionary of the temple and police said he was killed by another group of RSS, which was exerting to take over the authority of the temple. Rajesh was murdered to the death by a motorcycle-borne RSS gang in February, 2012.

Krishna Kumar told media persons that the RSS activists had threatened him after he had filed complaint to the Devaswom Ombudsman.
