New Delhi : BJP president Amit Shah Tuesday asked party workers to “overcome laziness” and start a door-to-door poll campaign in the national capital and ensure that the party gets absolute majority in the Delhi assembly.
“Door-to-door campaigning and connections with people personally has been custom in the Jana Sangh and I urge all of you to do the same in Delhi,” Shah said in his concluding speech at the Delhi BJP’s executive meeting here that saw the participation of all office bearers, leaders and around 300 party workers.
“We are not competing with anyone in Delhi. Our struggle is with our own laziness. If you overcome that and aggressively start the campaign of going to people’s homes and asking for their votes, the BJP will win Delhi comprehensively,” he said.
The Bharatiya Janata Party chief said they would win Delhi comfortably as the BJP was “in the hearts of the people of Delhi”.
“The media can say whatever it wants to, but the reports that I have received clearly say that the BJP will form the government in Delhi as the people are extremely satisfied with the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last six months.
“This was why the BJP has won in four states and Delhi will be our fifth victory,” Shah said.
He said the Modi government took the important decision to regularise unauthorised colonies in Delhi which no government did.
“The Modi government is working to fulfill the aspirations of the people. The country is witnessing economic betterment and its image around the world has improved,” he said.
