Journalism students of MCRC to showcase their documentaries on Feb 10

New Delhi: The Convergent Journalism students of Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia, is organising the second film festival, Ainaa on February 10, Tuesday at the MA Ansari Auditorium of the University.

Ainaa was started in year 2013-2014 by the students of Masters in Convergent Journalism as a platform for aspiring filmmakers to exhibit their vision. In this documentary film festival, students of MA Journalism showcase the documentary films they make as part of their course.

Some of the films made by the students of MCRC have been exhibited in several national and international film festivals and have won many awards.

This year five films would be shown in the festival, which is open for all. The details of these films are:

DELHI DREAMS | 5 minutes

A reflection on the dreams and hopes of Delhiites, few of which were lived and rest unlived.

SAILABNAMA | 20 minutes

After learning of devastating floods, two Kashmiri head back to their homeland to experience the strength of Kashmir and its supporters from around the world coming together in the face of adversity.

THE MEMORIES OF AN AUTUMN | 10 minutes

An exploration into how memories are passed down generations, with regard to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

I CAN’T BE MAD AT ALLAH | 18 minutes

Facing violent oppression for being Muslim, Afza and her family fled from State and Buddhist perpetrated violence in Burma and her resilience is inspiring as she takes care of her family in a makeshift slum on the edge of Delhi.

DESI ANGREZI | 16 minutes

A light-hearted take on our contemporary society, its aspirations and struggles that English as a language becomes entwined with.
