Malaysia keen to partner with Andhra for various projects

Hyderabad : Malaysia has evinced interest in partnering with Andhra Pradesh for various projects.

A delegation from Malaysia called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who welcomed the interest its government has shown in conducting a feasibility study for Itchapuram-Chennai Beach Road in his state.

A delegate from Malaysia’s Industrial Development Board said that their government is interested in master plan and conceptual planning of townships in the proposed capital region in Vijayawada.

The delegation evinced interest in investing in infrastructure, roads and buildings, aquaculture, information technology, mining, automotive industry, pharma, tourism and agro-processing sectors in Andhra Pradesh, said a statement from the chief minister’s office.

The Malaysian government is also willing to partner with the state government in providing technologies for solar power projects.

Another investor evinced interest in mono rail in Vijayawada, Guntur and Visakhapatnam.

Naidu said the government was planning to have country-specific desks for ease of doing business.

He called for increasing the number of flights from Visakhapatnam to Kuala Lumpur.

The Malaysian delegates invited Naidu to visit Malaysia and study the development models there.

The Telugu community of Malaysia also invited him to be part of the Ugadi celebrations in Perra.
