We witnessed killing of two social reformers – Dr Narendra Dabholkar and Comrade Govind Pansare recently in Maharashtra. Both were rationalist, dedicated to removal of cultural terrorism from our society in a democratic and constitutional manner.
A fellow freelance journalist and former senior editor of Tehelka, Rana Ayyub’s recent write up in Dailyo – “Why investigating agencies believe Sanatan Sanstha is behind Dabholkar and Pansare’s murder … Investigating agencies have various evidences to back up their claim while the investigation is underway” – is an extremely good piece of investigative journalism and a guide to other such journalists how such incidences should be probed and reported based on Truth, Truth and only the Truth !!
Comrade Pansare had spoken at the Shivaji University in Kolhapur against the increasing glorification of Nathuram Godse, who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi. Pansare stated emphatically that Mahatma Gandhi was shot at by Godse, who was a member of the RSS, at which point a youth in the hall allegedly associated with the ABVP, questioned Pansare’s “distortion” of history. Many of us now know that Gandhi was not killed as claimed by “Gobel’s” propaganda of Partition and Rs 55 crore but due to his changing social attitude to pro-dalit from 1934, which led to unsuccessful attack on him for 4-5 times between 1934 to 1948.

Sanatan’s involvement in various blasts have been rightly pointed out in above mentioned piece. But it was only because of the transparent investigation by the daredevil, honest, then ATS chief, late Hemant Karkare that led to these arrests. Karkare was exposing Abhinav Bharat’s nationwide terror network during Malegaon 2008 blasts investigation based on three laptops seized from Col Purohit and Dayanand Pande, which was not investigated later after his killing by ‘Brahminist’ forces. These Laptops need to be investigated in depth to bring out the “real” nationwide terror network.
Comrade Pansare on December 20, 2014 had held a programme at Kolhapur in the presence of Justice B G Kolse Patil and former IGP S M Mushrif on latter’s book ‘Who Killed Karkare’, which got a huge response from the peoples of Kolhapur and also wide media coverage. Large number of copies of this book and some very important newspaper clippings were sold after this event that day. Pansare, Mushrif and BG Kolse Patil were abused by ‘Brahminist’ leaders of Kolhapur for this.
This huge response had reportedly triggered his killing but the state ATS is not probing this very important angle. IB has continued doing many anti-national activities in our country without any parliamentary oversight or accountability or CAG audit of their funds, their false inputs etc.
Maharashtra and Goa ATS officials have also discovered that Vikram Bhave, one of the accused arrested in the Panvel blasts, was in touch with Malgonda Patil up to the time Bhave was arrested. An investigating official also revealed to Tehelka after 2009 Madgaon blasts that the gelatin sticks that were used in the Panvel and Madgaon blasts were made in Nagpur. The IEDs that exploded prematurely in Madgaon were intended to go off in a market full of people celebrating the burning of effigy of the demon Narakasura, a practice widely observed by Goan Hindus and strongly objected to by the Sanstha every year.
Rana rightly exposed that “Investigating agencies believe that the attackers involved could be among the four members of the Sanatan Sanstha on which an Interpol notice had been issued earlier (names withheld on request). These four members are proclaimed offenders and charge-sheeted in the Madgaon blasts case. Investigating agencies have various evidences to back up their claim while the investigation is underway.”
But on whose request she withheld these four names – Four active sadhaks Sarang Akolkar alias Kulkarni, Rudra Patil, Jai Prakash Hegde and Praveen Limkar – are still wanted for their alleged involvement in the Madgaon blasts. All these four wanted accused have Interpol red corner notices against them. According to the National Investigation Agency, the fugitives had participated in a weapons and explosives handling training at Ponda (Goa) and Jat, Sangli (Maharashtra), in August and September 2009. The accused were members of ‘Sanatan Sanstha’ and entered into a conspiracy to cause explosions. After conducting reconnaissance and trial blasts, they procured IEDs to trigger the blasts in Goa. Jayaprakash was the prime suspect who procured the explosive substances and arranged for logistics etc.
Sarang Akolkar alias Kulkarni was very active in Pune and had contacts with saffron party men in Pune. He had also organized press conferences in Pune. But later, when his name was involved in Madgaon blast, all went tight lipped like they don’t know him. Just three months after the Madgaon 2009 blasts, to divert attention from this incident, Pune’s German Bakery blast was carried out. As happened in many such cases, Goa and Maharashtra Police had almost cracked this case and involvement of Akolkar alias Kulkarni in Pune’s German Bakery blast has been unearthed by the police. Then ATS chief KP Raghuvanshi had to admit to the media that Akolkar is also on their radar for German bakery blast. (Not to forget, Raghuvanshi is one who is close friend of Col Purohit and often involved the latter in many activities of the ATS).
But like many other cases, IB swung into action, took this investigation into completely reverse track and framed an innocent Muslim youth into this case also.
Neither Raghuvanshi is still not prosecuted for framing many such innocent youths into false terror cases not is Rakesh Maria, who did it in 26/11 case among others. But we must thank Rakesh Maria who left crucial evidence behind by saying to then CP, Mumbai, Hasan Gafur, during that night that “Sir, My DCP just confirmed … both have been shot dead, sir … (at Girgaon chowpaty)” throwing his own theory into pieces later at in court.
Rana further claims that “With the evidence that has come to light, it is most surprising that the previous Congress government and the present day government has taken no concrete steps to ban the Sanatan Sanstha, which agencies tell us are a hardline terror outfit, functioning brazenly from their Goa headquarters. Agencies had requested earlier Congress government to ban the Sanatan Sanstha and declare it a terror outfit. The last appeal was put forward by then ATS chief Rakesh Maria. But clearly the Congress led Union government had elections in mind.”
This is not entirely true. Then ATS chief Hemant Karkare first sent proposal to ban Sanatan, as per process it was forwarded to IB in Delhi, as we know IB is totally controlled by ‘Brahminists’, it rejected this proposal, the Union Cabinet knows/knew nothing about it. The IB, under Congress’s rule in Centre and in state also did whatever they wanted right under their nose, as the Cabinet was neither competent enough to understand it nor it had the will to reform the IB to control it.
Now with the sketch provided by eyewitnesses of the assassin of Narendra Dabholkar, who was on the bike, matches with one of the Interpol suspects, it is just a matter of bureaucratic will (Read IB) to arrest the real culprits.
There is urgent need to bring in massive reforms in police force, judiciary and IB to make them accountable to the public (and not to the corrupt communal ‘system’) so that criminals will not get illegal firearms to carry out such attacks and justice can be done in speedier manner without any bias and there will be no arrest of any innocent Muslim youths in the future. There should be a law such as Atrocity against Muslims which can be slapped on policemen and IB who frames innocents into terror cases.
In such a situation, only the honest judges and honest media houses can save this country. With the mainstream media becoming more and more in favour of such an ‘establishment’, only investigative portals, social media and judiciary remains as the hope to save our country now.
If this is not done, the civil, police and intelligence bureaucrats will continue to ruin our country!!
