New Delhi : A court here on Friday fixed April 22 for considering the closure report filed in a case against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in connection with the 1984 riots in Delhi.
Earlier, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Saurabh Pratap Singh Laler issued a notice to the complainant, Lakhvinder Kaur, whose husband Badal Singh was killed during the riots and fixed the matter for March 27 for further hearing.
The hearing could not take place on Friday as the magistrate could not come to the court since he was in Lucknow for a training session.
For the third time, the Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a closure report in the case against Tytler.
The probe agency had earlier given a clean chit twice to the Congress leader.
In April 2013, a sessions court had rejected the closure report and ordered the probe agency to further investigate the killing.
Acting on its direction, the CBI conducted a further probe but on December 24, 2014, filed another closure report before Laler.
The complainant’s counsel pleaded against the closure report.
