New Delhi : A five-member climbing team embarking on the first All-India Services expedition to Mount Everest called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Friday, an official said.
The team consists of five civil servants — two each of the Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian administrative Service (IAS) and one of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS).
“The expedition will be carrying the banner of ‘Swachh Bharat’ (clean India) to the peak. The Prime Minister conveyed his best wishes for the success of the expedition,” said a statement here.
The year 2015 also marks the golden jubilee of the first-ever Indian expedition to Mount Everest in 1965.
