Social media outraged over PM Narendra Modi following Amitesh Singh, who tweeted communal comments inciting to kill minority people

Pune: An engineering youth, who is also the grandson of BJP MP Nandu Singh from Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, has been arrested here by the cybercrime cell of city police for purportedly posting hate comments against minority community on social networking site Twitter.
Vijaysinh Gulab Katecha @Amitsingh Kate, 21, a first year engineering student, who claims to be the vice president of Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) on his twitter handle, was arrested on Wednesday for posting hate comments to avenge #GodhraAgain killing and urging to kill 3,000 people from minority community.

An FIR registered with Bund Garden police station against Kate, who has been booked under sections 295(A) (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class) and 153(A) (promoting enmity) of the IPC and section 66(F) (with intent to threaten the unity, integrity, security or sovereignty of India or to strike terror in the people or any section of the people) of the IT Act.
The FIR, a copy of which is with TCN, says that Katecha used twitter handle @AmiteshSinghBJP and tweeted offensive comments that are in a nature to hurt feelings of minority community.
He had tweeted after the Lok Sabha election results were out indicating that Nandu Singh was his grandfather: “My Nanaji has won the election by 1,50,000 and will now represent Khandwa, Bhuranpur districts of Madhya Pradesh in Parliament. I’m proud that my family has sent lotus to Delhi.”
Despite filing of an FIR and arresting Katecha, the social activists from minority community have expressed their displeasure with the way police procrastinated in registering an FIR on their complaint and also due to non-application of many other IPC sections against the accused.
Talking with TwoCircles.net, Azhar Tamboli, general secreatary of Maharashtra Action Committee, who after the hate tweets by Katecha was making rounds of Kondhwa police station with complaint, said, “Earlier the police were reluctant to file the FIR on our complaint but we then approached city DCP and ACP to take serious note of the issue and to take action. Then the local police were compelled to file the FIR and arrest him.”
Dissatisfied with missing out of certain sections against Katecha in FIR, Tamboli said,” We had categorically mentioned in our complaint as to under what sections he should be booked but instead of making us the complainant of FIR the compelled police registered FIR on their own making one of their officer as a complainant and not booked accused under many sections”.
In his complaint, Tamboli had demanded FIR under sections 153, 153 A, 295 A, 298, 499, 500, 504 of IPC and sections of IT Act but the police in its FIR booked Katecha only under sections 153 A, 295 A of IPC and 66 F of the IT Act.
“We are contemplating of approaching court to make us as complainant of the FIR and to direct police to invoke more charges against the accused,” Tamboli said.
Anjum Inamdar, president of Bharat Mukti Morcha, expressed concerns over increased communal hatred in the city and said, “This is a matter of grave concern when the youth belonging to the ruling party incites violence in the city that has proved to be very sensitive in the recent years. Last year only a Muslim techie was killed in the communal violence by members of Hindu Rashtra Sena.”
Social Media reacts sharply @AmiteshSinghBJP
In a series of tweets, he allegedly incited violence against the minority community using the hashtag #GodhraAgain. His tweets went viral drawing flaks from many.
Rajdeep Sardesai, veteran journalist tweeted: “Anybody knows who this @AmiteshSinghBJP is? Should be locked up for his hate filled, violent tweets. Will BJP/cops act against him?”
One of the user Austin Fernandes tweeted: “#ThankyouPM for bringing down the juvenile age from 18 to 16. Now your youth vice president @AmiteshSinghBJP can be tried as an adult :)”
Katecha had claimed that PM Modi was following him on twitter and had tweeted
“Youth Wing Politician, Pune. Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) City Vice President. Followed by PM Modi”
Reacting to PM Modi following him, one of the users Engineer Shareef tweeted: “PM follows @AmiteshSinghBJP who wants to kill 3000 Muslims & a criminal MLA who attacks Police.”
Another user @Nilim Dutta reacted: “Have some shame @narendramodi. You follow such communal louts? You run INDIA. NOT SOME SAKHAS. ACT !!!”
