New Delhi : A total of 1,680 cases were disposed off and a settlement amount of over Rs. 77 crore was awarded to claimants by various Delhi courts on the fourth monthly National Lok Adalat held on Saturday.
A Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DLSA) spokesperson said a total of 32 benches were constituted in which 1,536 cases were disposed off.
The cases pertained “to different jurisdictions with special focus on Motor Accident Claims Tribunal cases at pending stage in various district courts of Delhi in which settlement amount was approximately Rs.7,76,96,415,” the official added.
It was the fourth monthly National Lok Adalat organised in district court complexes – Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Patiala House, Saket, Rohini and Dwarka – under the supervision of Delhi High Court’s Chief Justice G. Rohini.
That Lok Adalats were also organised in all the three Debt Recovery Tribunals in which 14 cases were disposed off and the settlement amount was approximately Rs.69,22,18,707.
Lok Adalats were also organised in District Consumer Forums in which five benches were constituted where 29 cases were settled and the settlement amount was around Rs.41,94,523.
Moreover, Lok Adalats were also organised in Company Law Board in which one bench was constituted where 73 cases were settled for around Rs.20,43,500.
Lok Adalats were also organised in the revenue department, where 28 cases were settled.
