New Delhi : Delhi girl M. Gayatri with 99.2 percent marks topped the Class 12 CBSE results declared on Monday. Mythili Mishra, a Noida student, came a close second with 99 percent.
A student of New Green Field School in Saket, Gayatri emerged as the national topper with 496 out of the total 500 marks in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 results.
Pratima Prabhakar, principal of New Green Field School, told IANS: “Teachers and students of the school had put in a lot of effort to produce good results. I am very proud of Gayatri. She was the gem of the school.”
Prabhakar said the overall results of the school were impressive.
Mythili Mishra, a student at Amity International School in Noida, stood second with a total of 495 out of 500 – just a mark less than Gayatri.
School principal Reenu Singh said: “We are on top of the world. We had worked with consistency to achieve this. Scoring marks like these can be done only when one wants to achieve perfection.”
Singh congratulated the students and said the overall national pass percentage was good this year.
The highest ever marks achieved in Class 12 CBSE were 99.6 percent, by Sarthak Aggarwal last year.
