Bengaluru: The southwest monsoon has set in over Karnataka, the Met Office said on Saturday.
Officials from the meteorological department said that the monsoon has set in over parts of coastal Karnataka and south Karnataka on Friday.
In the next 24 hours till Sunday morning, the conditions are expected to be favourable for the advance of southwest monsoon in more parts of Karnataka which is already active over south Karnataka, the officials said.
The Met department has forecast rain and thundershowers for many places in coastal Karnataka and south Karnataka on Saturday.
The sky is expected to be cloudy in Bengaluru on Saturday, with the possibility of rain or thunderstorm.
The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 30 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature is expected to be around 21 degrees Celsius, officials said.
On Friday, the maximum temperature was 30.6 degrees Celsius, matching the season’s average while the minimum temperature was one notch below the season’s average at 20.2 degrees Celsius.
Gulbarga recorded the maximum temperature of 39.1 degrees Celsius on Friday.
