Programme on ‘community welfare’ organized in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A programme on “A Step Towards Community Welfare” was organised by Markazul Ma’arif and Ajmal Foundation at the Meeting Hall of Masjid Haji Sir Ismail Sait in the city.

The two major voluntary and social welfare organizations that run under Ajmal CSR initiatives, are working towards educational and economic upliftment of the neglected and downtrodden people of Assam and in parts of Northeast India for last more than two decades.

Ajmal group of companies, the popular brand in perfumery worldwide, runs various educational and social welfare organizations in India under its corporate social responsibilities (CSR) under the leadership and patronage of AIUDF leaders and MPs Maulana Badruddin Ajmal and his younger brother Sirajuddin Ajmal.

Maulana Muhammad Burhanuddin Qasmi, the director of Markazul Ma’arif Education and Research Center and Editor of Eastern Crescent magazine highlighted their works. They run more than 20 English and Assamese medium schools, six orphanages, four charitable hospitals, more than 21 colleges and a number of job-oriented training courses. They also provide scholarships to the poor and needy meritorious students to get higher education in universities as well as they carry the responsibility to solemnize marriage of hundreds of helpless and poor girls every year and it is their privilege to look after widows and disable people.

Shamsul Haq Chaudhury, the President (In-Charge) of Markazul Ma’arif (NGO), explaining the purpose of the programme, said that their intention is to infuse you and other organizations with the passion for doing charitable work more firmly.

MRH Azad, the deputy manager of Ajmal Foundation, said, “We want people to understand the need and accordingly extend their helping hand,” adding that it is time that the Muslim NGOs should share their work, help each other in community welfare activities and take steps within our own capabilities.

The programmme was attended by dignitaries from several parts of the country and several people from Bangalore city.
