Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on June 28, officials said on Tuesday.
“We have received time to time protocol of the PM and are working on it,” a senior district official informed IANS.
The security this time will be tighter than on his previous visits as there was a breach of security at events attended by the prime minister.
Sources said that the Special Protection Group (SPG) and the prime minister’s office (PMO) had taken a dim view of several glitches during his last visit, including taking Modi to a very narrow lane which was fraught with risks for such a VVIP protectee. The prime minister would be in Varanasi for over four hours.
Among his public engagements is the inauguration of the BHU trauma centre.
