Kabul: An explosion ripped through the southeastern part of the Afghan capital Kabul on Tuesday, Xinhua reported.
“There (may be) possible casualties,” a security source was quoted as saying. The explosion, at around 11.30 a.m., damaged several houses and vehicles.
Government troops cordoned off the area after the blast, keeping people from gathering at the scene for fears that there might be a second blast.
Unofficial sources said it appeared a car bomb targeted a two-vehicle convoy passing by the area where a lawmaker’s house was located.
On June 30, two civilians were killed after a Taliban suicide car bomb hit a foreign military convoy near the Kabul airport.
