Jammu: The Pakistan Army on Friday fired at Indian positions along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, an official said.
“The Pakistan Army used 82 mm mortars and automatics to target our positions on the LoC in Shahpur Kerni sector today (Friday),” defence ministry spokesman Col. Manish Mehta told IANS.
“The Pakistani shelling started at 6.20 p.m. and is still continuing. Our troops are effectively retaliating,” he said.
The Pakistani firing took place on the eve of India’s Independence Day and on a day Pakistan celebrated its independence.
