New Delhi: The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Tuesday issued summons to BJP legislator O.P. Sharma in connection with the alleged attack on AAP legislator Alka Lamba during her anti-drugs drive in the Kashmere Gate area here.
“The commission has directed to issue summons for personal appearance to you (Sharma) in pursuance of powers under the provisions of the DCW Act, 1994,” the DCW notice said.
“You are hereby required to appear (personally) before this commission on August 20.”
“I am very happy that the DCW has sent the notice to Sharma. I expect that I will get justice,” Lamba told IANS.
The DCW also issued notice to the Delhi Police on Monday to appear before it along with the CCTV footage of the attack.
Aam Aadmi Party leader Lamba suffered a head injury after a 19-year-old boy, working at a sweets shop, hurled a stone at her during an anti-drugs drive at Kashmere Gate on August 9. The assailant was later arrested.
