Mumbai: Kishor Kharat has been appointed as the CEO and MD of IDBI Bank. The announcement was made on August 14, 2015.

Kharat’s father Piraji Kharat is a follower of Dr Ambedkar and his thoughts. Kharat was born on September 4, 1958 and comes from a small village called Lonand which is situated in the district of Satara, Maharashtra.
Despite coming from a poor hamlet, Kharat achieved excellence in the field of education and completed his Bachelors in Commerce. He then studied law and started working in the banking sector.
Prior to his significant appointment as CEO at IDBI bank, he was working at the Bank of Baroda for 30 years. He also worked with Union Bank of India. He played an important role in establishing the branch of Bank of Baroda in Trinidad and Tabago, West Indies. He has also coordinated in several trade policies of the country.
