Bangalore : Wipro Ltd. posted a net profit of Rs.8.5 billion for the third quarter (October-December) of this fiscal (2007-08), registering a 12 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth under the Indian accounting system (Indian GAAP) over the same period last fiscal (2006-07) at Rs.7.7 billion.
In a notification to the stock exchanges here Friday, the IT giant said its consolidated revenue increased to Rs.53 billion during the quarter under review (Q3), posting 33 percent YoY growth under Indian GAAP as against Rs.40 billion in the same period of the last fiscal.
Under the US accounting system (US GAAP), net income grew by 11 percent YoY to $210 million from $189 million in the same period of the last fiscal (2006-07).
Similarly, the total revenue grew by 32 percent YoY to $1.33 billion from $1 billion from the same period year ago under the US accounting system.
