Kozhikode: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) student’s wing, Muslim Students Federation (MSF), has launched a campaign to ask the Hyderabad-based English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) to revise its decision of cancelling the plans of starting an off-campus centre in Malappuram. The ‘send a mail, save EFLU’ campaign kick started in various districts of Kerala with an aim to press the authorities to take favourable action in this regard.

MSF functionaries said that they were planning to send one lakh mails to Human Resources Minister Smriti Irani.

The efforts of opening an off- campus centre of the EFLU, in Kerala, date back to 2007. The state government allotted 75 acres of land at Panakkad in 2013 after determining the potential of the University and opportunities for the students in the state.

In the beginning, the university was eager to start the off-campus centre in the state.

The Central and State governments have also been keen on starting the off-campus centre. But, EFLU has only started two certificate courses instead of starting complete courses.
MSF functionaries told media persons that they will bring the attention of the concerned ministers towards the issue.
