Dadri lynching: UP Govt confirms meat found was mutton

By TCN News,

Delhi : Exactly three months after Mohammed Akhlaq was lynched by a mob in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh, the report of the chief veterinary officer has confirmed that the meat found in his house was indeed mutton, not beef, as the family had rightly claimed.

It is important to point out that as early as October 9, a report in the Times of India had said that the official tests in Mathura had confirmed that the meat found was mutton.

Today’s official announcement comes less than a week after the filing of charge sheets against 15 accused in the gruesome lynching of 50-year-old Mohammed Akhlaq on rumours of consuming beef. His 22-year-old son, Danish, was left severely injured in the incident.

This announcement comes a week after the UP Police filed a chargesheet in the Dadri lynching case on Wednesday, against 15 persons including Vishal Rana, son of Sanjay Rana.
