New Delhi : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Ashutosh on Monday said the BA and MA degrees of Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were fake and forged.
Pointing out several anomalies in the papers showcased by the BJP before mediapersons earlier on Monday, Ashutosh said that names and years on the documents don’t match.
“The first year marksheet in 1975 states his name as ‘Narendra Kumar Damodardas Modi’, the second year marksheet has ‘Narendra Damoderdas Mody’, while the third year marksheet in the year 1977 again has his name as ‘Narendra Kumar Damodar Das Mody’,” Ashutosh said.
Waving copies of Modi’s marksheets and degrees before the cameras, the AAP leader said: “But the BA degree here shows his name as ‘Narendra Damoderdas Modi’. Can the name of a person change so frequently in the marksheets?
“As far as I know, there is a legal procedure to change your name. You need an affidavit to change your name. Where is that affidavit?” he added.
According to the copies of marksheets and degrees provided by the BJP to the media, the first year MA marksheet from Gujarat University has the prime minister’s name as “Modi NarendraKumar Damoderdas” while the second year MA marksheet has his name as “Modi Narendra Damoderdas”.
The post-graduation degree, however, bears the name “Narendra Damoderdas Modi”.
“You need brains even to do forgery,” Ashutosh quipped as he pointed out the anomalies.
In response to BJP president Amit Shah’s demands that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal must apologise for hurling “false allegations” against Prime Minister Modi, Ashutosh said instead Shah and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley should apologise for showing fake documents.
