Ghaziabad : Minister of State for External Affairs and MP from Ghaziabad V.K. Singh on Wednesday inaugurated a coach guidance system as part of modernisation works at the Ghaziabad Junction rRailway station.
The coach guidance system will help passengers know about coach position at different platforms at the Ghaziabad station.
The other improvement works include installation of a water vending machine, a solar pump and LED lights at the railway station.
The minister also laid the foundation stone for escalators and lifts at the station.
The local MP also launched some other improvement works at the New Ghaziabad Station, Guldhar and Murad Nagar stations.
The repairs of platform surfaces, construction of a railway underbridge near Hindon, six-lane railway overbridge connecting NH-24 and NH-58 and expansion of shelters on platforms number 4 and 5 would cost about Rs 155 crore, the minister said.
A low height overbridge connecting platforms number 2 and 3 would also be completed within the current financial year.
Work on the railway overbridge at Dhobi Ghat would be launched next month and be completed before September 2018, the minister said.
Construction of a second foot overbridge at Sahibabad Railway Station would also be undertaken shortly at a cost of Rs 88 crore, added the minister.
