New Delhi : An Afghan national was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in the national capital for allegedly trying to smuggle four kg of heroin, valued at Rs.40 million in international market, an official said.
Sleuths of Central Board of Excise and Customs arrested the accused – yet to be identified – who had arrived in the morning in a Kam Air airlines flight from Kabul, the official added.
"He (accused) was arrested from the arrival counter of the airport after a compulsory X-ray image showed the presence of the banned narcotics in a belt which he was wearing," the custom official said.
However, he refused to divulge any other details into the matter.
