The foreign ministry Tuesday confirmed that local authorities in Kabul have sent fresh terror threat alerts to the country’s embassy there, media reports said.

The information about the threat has been passed to Norwegian police and intelligence officials responsible for the security of the country’s embassy in foreign countries, the ministry said.

The threat comes a week after a terrorist attack on the Serena Hotel in Kabul where Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store and his delegation were staying during their visit to Afghanistan.

A Norwegian journalist was killed and a foreign ministry employee was seriously wounded in the attack Jan 14, which was condemned by the international community, including the UN.
