Updating Delhi Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Seema Maini on the latest developments, the CBI said a court in El Dorado in the province of Misiones, about 1,500 km from the Argentinean capital Buenos Aires, would start hearing India's extradition request on June 7.

Maini asked the CBI to file its next status report in the matter on July 28.

The CBI, which had filed its earlier status report on March 14, is required to keep the court posted on the developments.

The fugitive businessman was arrested in February in the Argentinean tourist hotspot of Iguazu on the basis of an Interpol Red Corner Notice (RCN) issued in 1997 against him.

Quattrocchi is accused of cheating the Indian exchequer while brokering a deal for the purchase of Swedish-made Bofors field guns in 1987.
