New Delhi : Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umri, in due consultation with Central Advisory Council session held at Bangalore from May 26 to 31, nominated Naib Ameers, Secretaries and Assistant Secretaries, said a JIH statement here Monday.
Mr. Muhammad Jafar, who had been Jamaat's Secretary General during the last three terms, and Professor K.A. Siddique Hassan, who was Secretary during the last term, have been nominated as Naib Ameers. Earlier, the former was founder president of Students Islamic Organisation of India and then Ameer Halqua of the Jamaat's Bihar zone while the latter led the Jamaat in Kerala and Andamans for several terms.
In view of the long experiences spread over several decades, former Naib Ameer Maulana Muhammad Shafi Moonis has been named as Hon. Advisor.
Besides, the Jamaat chief also nominated seven Secretaries and six Assistant Secretaries. Former Ameer Halqua of the organisation's Andhra Pradesh and Orissa zone Abdul Basit Anwar has been nominated as Secretary for Tarbiyah. Those who have been retained as Secretaries are Mr. Syed Ghulam Akber (Finance), Mr. Ejaz Ahmed Aslam (Public Relations), Maulana Muhammad Rafeeque Qasmi (Islamic Society), Mr. Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed (Education), Mr. Mujtaba Farooque (Community and National Issues) and Mr. Iqbal Mulla (Dawah).
Messrs Rafeeque Ahmed, Intizar Naeem, Muhammad Abdul Azeez, Nusratullah Afandi, Jaleel Asghar and Saleh Bin Ali Shabibi have been named as Assistant Secretaries. They will assist the JIH Secretaries in their various organisational responsibilities.
