Jakarta : Poor visibility around the airport due to intermittent rains forced the closure of International Airport of Indonesia’s capital provoking the delay of about 120 flights, reported the media.
Detiknews’ web page noted that Sukarno Hatta’s airport authorities reported over 120 flights were postponed.
Sources reported that the landing strip was flooded and visibility was reduced, with almost two feet of rainwater and bad weather expected until Saturday.
Meanwhile, at least three persons died, 14 were wounded and a dozen remain missing because of the flood registered in Central Java, according to Antara news agency.
Over 10,000 homes from 30 towns have been evacuated in Pasuruan district, the most affected by the heavy rain that is hitting the place since Wednesday.
In this context, 100 persons died and dozens of thousands were evacuated after landslides and flooding due to the rain occurred since December in the same area of the country.
